Yolo Boy Scouts of America

Jamboree 2010

The 100 year anniversary of the Scouting movement in America will be celebrated July 26 to August 4, 2010 in Caroline County Virginia. The Golden Empire Council will send a contingent of 7 troops (36 scouts and 4 adults) to  participate in the National Jamboree and for a tour of selected east coast cities which may include New York City, Philadelphia, Gettysburg, Washington DC, Williamsburg and Mount Vernon.

Scouts wishing to participate in the 2010 National Jamboree should fill out the preliminary application on the form reference below and pay a $200.00 deposit. This $200.00 deposit will hold the Scouts spot in one of the troops from the Golden Empire Council. An application for the adult leadership positions will be available at a later date.

The Jamboree needs hundreds of volunteers on its staff, not associated with a particular troop. About 100 specific jobs exist from merit badge counsellor, commisary, sub-camp staff, security, program, transportation, etc. First, determine the jobs you are interested in from the on-line list, pick six, then register on-line and pay a $100 deposit, $50 of which is refundable. You will receive a preliminary confirmation letter and event patch in about a month. Over the next nine months staff appointments will be made.  Visit http://www.bsajamboree.org/register.html  to begin.  Any questions?  Call Bill Ragsdale 530-857-6241. See you at the Hill.
