Yolo Jamboree On The Air
Yolo District Boy Scouts and the Yolo Amateur Radio Society are sponsoring Jamboree On The Air W6Y, a special event station. The Boy Scouts of Yolo County, Calif., are invited to visit to learn about amateur radio and contact Scouts around the world. The event is at Nelson's Grove, 1 mile north of Woodland on Highway 113 (East Avenue)10 AM to 3 PM on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007. The Jamboree-on-the-Air is an annual, international Scouting and amateur radio event sponsored by the World Scout Bureau of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. About 1,200 amateur radio stations around the world participate giving over 500,000 Scouts a ham radio experience. This is the 49th year for JOTA.
